The closest casino to me is the Harrah cherokee in North Carolina. It's a nice casino, but always packed. No free drinks and they generally have the worst configuration for each table. Blackjack pays 6 to 5 instead of 3 to 2, craps odds are 3x 4x 5x, and so on.
Those are annoying practices, but they aren't shadey. What does concern me, however, is that the casinos aren't subject to US law. I have read some articles about people winning big jackpots at slot machines only for the casino to tell them they won't get paid because the machine malfunctioned. I have also heard they tribal court basically sides with the casino in every meaningful case.
